WWF-New Zealand’s CEO, Dr Kayla Kingdon-Bebb, has announced she will be standing as a candidate in the upcoming General Election.

This decision was made in a personal capacity, and she will be stepping back from all of WWF-New Zealand’s direct political and media engagement to maintain a clear separation.

Kayla will be taking an unpaid leave of absence from August once interim leadership arrangements are put in place.

WWF-New Zealand remains, as it always has been, an independent and non-partisan organisation. We work constructively with all political parties and our mission to protect and restore nature in Aotearoa continues unchanged.

Our advocacy and policy work remain firmly grounded in science and evidence, guided by our bold 10-year Strategy and powered by the dedication of our team and the generosity of our supporters.
