Mountains-To-Sea/ Ki Uta ki Tai

Some of New Zealand’s top surfers and skaters competed in a special event to help raise awareness of the critically endangered Maui’s dolphin, which is found only off the West Coast of the North Island.
"If you see a Maui’s dolphin, call 0800 4 MAUIS."

How WWF works to save Maui's

Maui's surf report

The New Zealand board riding community is more likely than many to see the critically endangered Maui's dolphins firsthand.
 
WWF-New Zealand is teaming up with surfers and skaters to promote our 0800 4 MAUIS sightings hotline.
 
We encourage all Kiwis lucky enough to spot one of these beautiful, distinctive animals to report it to our experts.
 
The more we know about the range of the dolphins, the better we can protect this important species.
