WWF - The Place to Work

WWF has been operating in New Zealand for over 30 years.

We are a values-based organisation and endeavour to work and live by our values.  We look to employ people with drive, initiative and commitment to share our passion for people and nature. We provide a multicultural, stimulating environment in which our teams work together in an integrated fashion to build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

Our central office is located in The Treehouse in the Botanic Garden, Wellington with additional space in another building just up the hill. In December we are moving to Boulcott Street away from the beautiful garden environment but closer to most of our business contacts. Currently we have 18 staff, 15 of whom are in Wellington. The other staff members are based in Auckland and the South Island.

We have a strong forward-looking programme of conservation work. Times are challenging for us at present as we strive to sustain the growth and effectiveness of our conservation programme, together with the resulting pressure on fundraising, communications and supporting administration services.

As part of our values-based approach, we look at ways in which we can work more sustainably. In 2006 we achieved the status of being the first carbon neutral conservation organisation in New Zealand.

We all down tools from time to time and organise social get-togethers – most recently a staff sailing trip, a trip to Karori Sanctuary and a visit to the zoo to see its sustainability programme - and we have a healthy (?) morning tea roster with some pretty weird quizzes!
