WWF's Bob Zuur joins the Maritime New Zealand's Penguin Rescue Patrol. Nightly trips were made by the team along the shore checking for oiled birds.

Locals estimate that between 200-300 little blue penguins nest in the area near Tauranga, so are at high risk of being oiled following the Rena disaster in the Bay of Plenty.
